Held annually at NEOMED's NEW Center, the Leadership Conference and Showcase is a highlight of the Leadership Portage County program.

May 3, 2018
Closing Retreat/Graduation
 A time to celebrate and reflect on the journey taken during the previous 8 months. Closing Retreat brings prospective to the Leadership Portage County experience.

2017 - 2018 Program Dates 

September 14 and 15, 2017
Opening Retreat  
This two day event is designed to introduce class members to the Leadership Portage County experience.  Small group activities facilitated by local experts provide a deeper understanding of personality traits, communication styles and types of leadership.

October 5, 2017

County Tour 
Class member depart via motor coach for a day-long tour of Portage County. On this guided tour participants gain insights into the rich history and hidden gems that make Portage County unique. 

November 2, 2017
Human Services Day
This program day offers an examination of the social service needs of Portage County and the organizations and agencies that provide support and aid to those in need. 

December 7, 2017
Government Day

Tour county facilities and meet with elected officials.  Gain insights into the county's political structure and challenges facing those who govern.


About the Program

Leadership Portage County is a nine month experience designed to develop active and influential leaders with the appropriate knowledge to address important issues facing Portage County. Participants are engaged in an exploration of the region to gain a deep understanding of the county‚Äôs challenges and opportunities.  These experiential learning opportunities also provide professional development to assist participants in building their personal leadership skills.
