September 12, 13 and 14, 2018
This retreat starts with a Wednesday night dinner and reception where the class meets each other for the first time. The following day the class takes on a group project that will serve as a get to know you event and service to the community. Friday the group spends the day Camp Ravenna, exploring Leadership in order to provide a deeper understanding of personality traits, communication styles and types of leadership.
October 4, 2018
Class member depart via motor coach for a day-long tour of Portage County. On this guided tour participants gain insights into the rich history and hidden gems that make Portage County unique.
November 1, 2018
Human Services Day
This program day offers an examination of the social service needs of Portage County and the organizations and agencies that provide support and aid to those in need.
December 6, 2018
Tour county facilities and meet with elected officials. Gain insights into the county's political structure and challenges facing those who govern. Take a ride along with law enforcement.
January 10, 2019
'21st Century Learning' and 'College and Career Readiness' are buzzwords of the day. K-12 and higher education are the focus of this program day.

Leadership Portage County is a nine month experience designed to develop active and influential leaders with the appropriate knowledge to address important issues facing Portage County. Participants are engaged in an exploration of the region to gain a deep understanding of the county’s challenges and opportunities. These experiential learning opportunities also provide professional development to assist participants in building their personal leadership skills.
